Asphalt Paving Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Asphalt Paving Supervisor to lead field crews, manage daily paving operations, and ensure top quality results on all roadway, parking lot, and commercial paving projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who excels in planning, coordinating and motivating teams in a fast-paced construction environment.
What You’ll Do:
Project Planning & Coordination
- Review project specifications, drawings, schedules, and budgets to plan day-to-day paving activities.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors to ensure work aligns with project requirements.
- Organize crew assignments, equipment needs, trucking, and material deliveries to maintain a smooth workflow.
Crew Leadership & supervision
- Lead, train and motivate paving crews, ensuring everyone understands job expectations and safety protocols.
- Monitor crew performance, provide guidance, resolve on-site issues, and maintain productive team environment.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and reinforce safe work practices
Quality Control & Site Management
- Ensure proper pavement preparation, compaction, material temperature, and coverage according to industry standards.
- Inspect completed work to verify accuracy, smoothness, and compliance with project specifications.
- Identify and address potential problems early to avoid delays and or rework.
Safety & Compliance
- Uphold all company, local, and Federal safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
- Ensure equipment is used correctly and maintained in good working condition.
- Complete daily field reports, production, logs, time sheets, and other required documentation.
Work Environment
- Outdoor physical work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions at times.
- Requiring walking, standing, lifting, a and overseeing active construction zones.
- Ability to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends during peak season.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 2 plus years in a supervisory role.
- Strong Knowledge of paving equipment, asphalt mixes, compaction techniques, and grade control.
- Ability to read blueprints, plans and project specifications.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license, CDL is a plus.
- Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.
