Job Description:
The Contract Administrator position is responsible for preparing, examining, analyzing, negotiating, and revising contracts for construction projects, secures all necessary approvals and ensures that standard company procedures are followed, demonstrate a strong attention to detail along with the ability to discover potential risks for our company, analyze contracts with an eye toward reducing costs and increasing profits, while ensuring compliance with the law. This position reports directly to the Controller.
Our company is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator with 5+ years’ experience in construction Contract Administration at a very high level. This position is a vital piece of our company and requires a strong attention to detail and extensive contract law knowledge. This person must have the ability to work with contractors, subcontractors, lawyers, municipalities, and co-workers in a professional manner while maintaining a strong rapport with all. Strong organizational skills, self-sufficient, and being able to maintain composure under stress are very important skills for this position.
Job Skills and Requirements:
Experience working directly with Contractors, Subcontractors, Lawyers, various Municipalities, and insurance/surety
Experience in construction a must
Experience with subcontract billing and compliance
Experience with bid bonds, maintenance bonds, and retainage bonds
Experience with various software
Able to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing responsibilities quickly
Extensive experience in contract law and the ability to keep up on changes
Experience with EEO reporting, MBE/SBE/UDBE requirements
Experience with lien waivers, executing prime contracts, and subcontracts
Ability to work with an assortment of personalities and people
Self-starter with highly evolved communication skills
